Staying true to our investment philosophy requires strong leadership – which has always been a core tenant of Shilldev Inc. We aim to always look to the future. Through community projects and green initiatives, we set the standard for what’s possible in real estate with the goal of leading others on that path.
Since our first store in 1954, I have found passion investing with intention. It is the prospect of reinvigorating neighborhoods and improving the city I love that fuels my passion to continue on this journey.

For over 65 years, Shilldev Inc. has been dedicated to the vision of our craft. In 1954, David Shiller opened his very first storefront on Ontario Street in Montreal. This one store represented everything David had earned selling handmade blinds door to door. Thankfully, the store was a success and David opened a second store with the help of his teenage sons Stephen and Richard. Attributing their success to the open arms of the francophone community, they decided to purchase the building they were renting and improve it. The Shillers felt strongly that investing in the real estate was a way to invest in the community that had been instrumental to their dream.
Today, this philosophy has been passed down three generations. Shilldev Inc. is a family company that has learned through passion, patience, and integrity – the same elements we hope will inspire our tenants to flourish. Our mission is to create an energy in our communities that will attract people from all over the world.
